The VIC Branch is supporting and promoting a special
PREMIERE SCREENING of WILD BUTTERFLY on THURSDAY 12th MARCH, 6.00pm at the ASTOR THEATRE MELBOURNE.
WILD BUTTERFLY is a true crime documentary that uncovers the tragic story behind 24-year-old Claire Murray and her desperate search for a life-saving liver transplant that became a trial by national media. Depicted as an ungrateful junkie who recklessly destroyed her first transplant, WILD BUTTERFLY investigates the true story behind the events that lead to Claire’s death in 2010 including new criminal evidence ignored by the media.
Catholic institutional cover-up, medical negligence, missing police records and trial by mainstream and social media are all at play in this heartbreaking and gripping documentary. This is not just the tragic story of one young woman and her family - this story opens our eyes to the impacts of universal social injustices, mental health and prejudices that could befall any family and anyone’s daughter.
PLEASE NOTE: Enough tickets must be sold to ensure this screening goes ahead, if it doesn't happen those funds will be refunded - no one loses out!
The official trailer for the Wild Butterfly movie is now available.

As already stated, it is important we get people to this event. The perpetrator is still at large and we owe it to Claire and all victims of sexual assault to support this film.
On behalf of Claire’s family, thank you
