Darwin Delegates
More than 65 local Darwin seafarers, port and stevedoring workers, international and national guests contributed to forging a strong union brand at the Darwin Branch Conference held at Stokes Hill Wharf on July 1-2.
Delegates heard reports and contributions detailing organising strategies and campaigning ideas that formed the basis of two days of discussion and debate.
The conference endorsed the work of MUA/AWU hydrocarbon alliance in the offshore industry and paid tribute to outgoing officials, Harry Black, veterans, Eddie Seymour, training and Mick Killick, national organiser.

Mick Killick
The Darwin Branch Conference thanks and records its appreciation to Mick Killick for his contribution to the Offshore Alliance and the organisation of the Darwin Branch of the MUA during his time as the National Organiser.

Hydrocarbon Alliance
The Inaugural Darwin Branch Conference acknowledges the work done by both unions in the setting up of the Hydrocarbon Alliance and fully support this most important strategic alliance. The Darwin branch members fully understand the importance of organising the Hydrocarbon sector and support the work of the alliance.

Harry Black
The members attending the Darwin Branch Conference unanimously applaud the contribution that Harry Black has made to the Maritime Union of Australia and predecessor Union the WWF.
Harry is retired from the workforce but not from the struggle and his contribution to the retired Veterans Association as the National President is well recognized.
The conference wishes to record it's thanks to Harry's commitment and wish him well for the future now that he has vacated the position of National President of the MUA veterans Association.

Eddie Seymour
The Darwin Branch Conference records its gratitude and appreciation to Eddie Seymour for his contribution to educating the rank and file. The conference conveys its best wishes for Eddie's future & wishes him the best of health.
