ACTU joins struggle against DP World with unanimous endorsement of MUA resolution

The ACTU met today and unanimously endorsed a resolution brought by Assistant National Secretary, Mich-Elle Myers, raising the struggle for MUA members employed at Dubai Ports' ( DP World ) four Australian ports.

The ACTU resolution, which was seconded by the Transport Workers Union, called for Dubai Ports to:

  1. Return to good faith bargaining and abandon their attacks on hard working maritime workers in Brisbane, Sydney, Melbourne and Fremantle.
  2. Deliver a fair wage outcome for their workers that keeps pace with inflation and with industry benchmarks
  3. Commit to roster and working arrangements that support a sustainable work-life balance, mitigate fatigue and provide certainty for wharfies and their families
  4. Sit down with workers and their Union to remove ambiguity from the existing agreement to reduce future disputation around minor clauses.
