Work & Family

Brad Dunn

Brad Dunn: "Industrial relations. That's the big issue for me. We need to beef up the independent umpire. We need the awards to have more than 20 allowable matters. We need to go back to a 35 hour week. We won it years back, but it's gone. People don't have time to spend with their children, time for their partners. They don't get a social life. We're lucky that at least we get paid for working overtime. Most workers don't. We'd all be casual but for the union."

A recent Newspoll found that 87 per cent of full time workers identified flexible working hours, the right to time off work for family emergencies and childcare sorely needed.
