The Great Wall of Workers

The mural is one of Australia's greatest monuments to the working class. Dozens of men and women laboured to create this artwork between 1953 and 1963. Artists worked shoulder to shoulder with the many maritime workers who were active in the union's cultural movement at the time.

Sailing Ships : The Last Windjammers

Grain Races Round Cape Horn tells the story of the great sailing ships that raced from Australia to Europe carrying grain, from the 1920s to 1949.The exhibition, showing at the National Maritime Museum, Darling Harbour, Sydney until March 14, captures the excitement of the world's last great sailing ships that raced on the world's trade routes.
