Staff Member Retires After 30 Years at MUA

Published: 27 Mar 2015

Moira Jones has retired after 30 years of service for the Maritime Union of Australia

To commemorate the occasion the Tasmanian Branch took Moira to the best restaurant Devonport has to offer, the aptly named Mrs Jones.

She started in the QLD Branch as an administrative assistant before completing her final two years in Tasmania.

She has retired back to the warmth of QLD. The Tasmanian Branch, secretary Jason Campbell, honorary branch secretary Ian Hill, organiser Alisha Bull, Nadeen Davis Branch Manager and Brooke Seward branch administration wish her the best in the future.

Moira said she wanted to thank those she'd worked with throughout her many years.

"After 30 years and 2 days with the MUA (of which I am very proud)," Moira said in an email message.

"I have enjoyed my time with the MUA but now feel it is time for the closing of this chapter and the opening of the next chapter to be shared with family and friends back in BrisVegas.

"I would be kidding myself if I think I am not going to miss the friendships, members and colleagues I have worked with and for over the years but know I can always draw on fond memories, (some good-some not so good) of my time under the MUA umbrella.

"Farewell all and may the coming times be kind to you."
