Nuclear Waste Dump in SA Opposition

 A Bill to enable the Federal Government to create a nuclear waste dump in the South Australian town of Kimba is currently before the Federal Parliament. This is enabling legislation for Australia’s first dedicated radioactive waste facility and there is a clear community expectation for the most rigorous process and assessment. The MUA has long opposed the creation of a nuclear waste dump in South Australia and Branch Secretary Jamie Newlyn wrote to all Federal Labor MPs and Senators outlining his reasons why the Bill should not be passed.
