Branch Secretary Jamie Newlyn reports the Quadrennial National Conference is to be held on Monday 2 March to Friday 6 March 2020 at The Star Casino Gold Coast. This conference will be attended by over 500 people including MUA Delegates, international guests, national unions and
The theme of this 2020 Quadrennial National Conference is Tjungu (pron. Tjoo-ngoo) an indigenous word meaning “one voice, one people together” and it has never been a more vital time for us to
embrace this approach in our Union.
The Australian Trade Union movement faces an unprecedented attack aimed at removing basic rights and opportunities for working class men, women and their families.
This Conference provides a platform to consolidate and align our political and industrial focus not only to deal with the divisive Morrison government, but to promote the progressive alternatives.
The National Conference will be fully digital, allowing attendees to engage with the conference material on several platforms including via the website and phone app. Connecting, engaging with each other and exchanging ideas is what this National Conference is all about.
It is a time to come together and celebrate our shared values and ambitions. Comrade Crumlin hopes the five days will leave attendees feeling equipped to continue the union movement initiative.
