New study links stress with workplace injury.

MENTAL STRESS IS A MAIN CAUSE OF WORKPLACE INJURIES New figures released today at the launch of 2010 Safe Work Tasmania Week show. The Minister for Workplace Relations, the Hon David O'Byrne said in 2009 a total of 9,273 injuries were reported, including 372 caused by mental stress.

Meanwhile in Queensland the Bligh Government has urged employees, employers and the community to work together to cut the incidence of death and injury in the workplace. The plea was made by Industrial Relations Minister Cameron Dick as part of Safe Work Week, which runs from 24-30 October. Mr Dick said workers and their families were paying too high a price for their jobs.
