Greek seamen have threatened a two-day walk out next week in protest over plans by the government to axe cabotage laws, Tradewinds reports
The action led by the Panhellenic Seamen's Federation (PSF) includes a two day strike and sit in.
Seafarers look set to sit out work on Monday and 1 May as cruiseships with non-EU flags and potentially non-Greek crew are set to be allowed ply the tourist trades by the end of next month, Tradewinds reports.
The PSF wrote in a statement on Friday: "Lifting cabotage restrictions in cruise shipping means job losses, before threatening: "This strike is only our first answer to the attack against Greek seafarers".
Greek prime minister Papandreou earlier this week said foreign ships would be allowed to moor at Greek ports and carry passengers to Greek islands.
