Women currently make up approximately 5.18% of the MUA's membership and that number is growing! MUA Women is intended to provide women with support and a sense of sisterhood within the union. Initiatives like this one are aimed at reducing feelings of isolation and alienation, and set about strengthening our women activists.

There are many struggles for women in the workplace and when that workplace is male dominated the struggles are more amplified.
Biannually Women in Male Dominated Occupations and Industries (WiMDOI) gather to discuss these struggles and form initiatives on how to overcome issues both in the workplace and at home.
