Douglas Gadebo, Assistant General Secretary of the PNG Maritime Union was a special guest of the Branch for this years May Day. He joined around 360 MUA members and families, including retired members on the march and for the celebrations that followed.
“This mob are shockers,” said Matt. “They owe money everywhere. My concern is they haven’t got it. They already owe more than half a million to creditors.”

Garry was a tireless supporter and advocate for our union and the labour movement, and spent much time on the Patrick Picket line in the front row of opposition to the criminal conspiracy against our union.
MUA, Victoria, hosted the launch of a new book on the war years and the role of the merchant marine, yesterday, by MUA veteran seafarer Bill Andrews.
