Voices from the Ships OUT NOW

MUA National Secretary Paddy Crumlin at the book launch

Voices from the Ships, Australian Seafarers and their union, a history commissioned by the MUA, is now available from all branch union rooms.

The history, by Diane Kirkby, focuses on the last two decades of the union before its amalgamation with the Waterside Workers' Federation to become the Maritime Union of today.

It follows an earlier history published by the union to commemorate 100 years of unionism in 1972

Listen to long time leader of the Seamen's Union and MUA elder Pat Geraghty chat to Lisa Forrest, ABC Radio presenter and Olympic boycott veteran, alongside the author Diane Kirkby on The Conversations Hour.
