Dean Summers 1 Dec 2009 Once again the issue of workers “Right to Work” cards is the focus of national attention as the Australian Crime Commission investigates ways they can use the Maritime Security Identification Card to fight crime.
Unions are committed to work with government and are prepared to make sacrifices to ensure counter terrorism and boarder protection, but security is too important to be hijacked buy other departments for their own purposes.
The “Inquiry into the adequacy of aviation and maritime security measures to combat serious and organised crime” has now received 16 public submissions and members can access these through the parliamentary website
