MUA meets new ALP candidate for Macquarie
14 Jul 2010 A delegation of MUA members met with the new ALP candidate for Macquarie, Susan Templeman Monday night at her campaign launch.
The event was attended by Treasurer Wayne Swan and Senator Doug Cameron. All three had been previously lobbied around shipping and the MUA delegation maintained the focus on shipping discussing the MUA's shipping policy campaign with each again.
The candidate for Macquarie said she was interested in gaining more information on the details of our shipping campaign but was supportive of the general approach and in agreement about the disastrous effect the Howard Government had on Australia's shipping industry.
The seat of Macquarie covers the Blue Mountains area of NSW and is held by MP Bob Debus who is retiring by a margin of 0.1%.
