The MUA Sydney Branch rallied against Deutsche Bank in Sydney's CBD yesterday, Stop Work Meeting Day, Tuesday 29 September.

"This is to demonstrate practical solidarity with our Irish Comrades on the Dublin Docks, who have been on strike now for 12 weeks against their bosses," said branch secretary Paul McAleer.

Marine Terminals Limited (M.T.L.) is owned by UK based Peel Ports Group which is 49% owned by Deutsche Bank.

The company forced redundancies on a quarter of their workforce including the union delegate and slashed their wages by over 200 Euro's a week.

The demonstration will hold Deutsche Bank accountable for the actions of this company.

"This is about maritime workers supporting maritime workers around the world. Let us all create the world's longest picket line, and defend dockworkers dignity and hard fought for conditions," he said.
