Comrades, my name is Lee Gritt, I'm 48 years old, a member of our union since 1975. I'm fourth generation wharfie/seafarer.

I've been a committee of management representative, an active delegate with 10 years on the Brisbane (port/branch) committee. I have experience in the past with award negotiations and of course in these troubled political times with our enterprise bargaining endeavours. For the past 18 months my workplace has been on the wharf with casual hours only, I understand our fight for permanent employment.

I believe that I can contribute to our future as a progressive trade union.
