I am Micheal Canning. I've been a Seamen's Union/Maritime Union member since 1988. I started as a painter & docker in Fremantle, and have been a port worker since 1990 in the Port of Fremantle.

I have been an elected delegate for port workers in Fremantle, and after the last elections was given the opportunity to be elected to the State Port Committee representing Fremantle port workers.

The opportunity to represent workers' fight for both their rights and conditions and ensure workers' return safely home to their families has been and remains my main priority.
