Lord Mayor to open the Hungry Mile

In a joint ceremony the Premier of NSW, the Lord Mayor and Maritime Union of Australia National Secretary Paddy Crumlin will formally re-name The Hungry Mile as an official locality in Sydney at 11am on Wednesday

The Hungry Mile will become an urban place name for the area that includes the section of Hickson Road between the Mons Street overbridge and the Napoleon Street intersection located mainly in the suburbs of Barangaroo and Millers Point. Signposts are being erected on Hickson Road marking the precent.

The official ceremony will take place at Munn Reserve overlooking the Hungry Mile, with all MUA veterans invited to attend.
