Bulk and General Stevedoring Conference May 11-13 2010

Conference will centre on Bulk and General operations from across the entire country.

The aim of the conference is to bring together wharfies from various areas and align strategy with regard to job issues and enterprise bargaining in the stevedoring industry.

The conference will also see the roll-out of the National Stevedoring Code of Practice and deal with many issues of significance to Bulk and General workplaces.

We will also review National Conference decisions relating to stevedoring.  

The conference will aim to raise unity across various enterprise sectors and work toward the development of an industry wide union culture amongst Bulk and General Wharfies.

The conference will also set priority goals in bargaining in an attempt to bridge any gaps between companies and to prevent employers using Enterprise Agreements as a means of creating division and disunity.

 Patrick delegates will stay behind for the 14 May to discuss specific bargaining issues relating to the Patrick B&G EBA.
