Queensland Branch

Queensland Branch MUA

Queensland maritime coastline is just shy of 7,000 kilometres with an area of coverage extending from Weipa on the western side of Cape York to the border with New South Wales at the holiday destination of the Tweed. The coastline is diverse in its geographical landscape and so is the MUA coverage in this State. Towage extends from Weipa in the North as well as regular sailings on the MUA manned vessels from the Port to Gladstone. Ever developing industry in the State needs to be balanced against unique eco-systems including the Great Barrier Reef. The importance of well trained seafarers is paramount in sustaining the balance. The major trading container Port is Brisbane with three Terminal operations with major commodity exports in the Central area of Gladstone, Mackay, Townsville and the surrounding bulk Ports in the North.
